Mario Puleo, M.D.

Dr. Mario Puleo II brings a diverse background and extensive medical expertise to his role at General Medical Consultants, Inc. With a passion for medicine and a commitment to excellence, Dr. Puleo’s journey began with academic distinction at The Ohio State University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS Degree in Zoology in 1995. Prior to pursuing his medical career, he gained valuable experiences, including working at United Parcel Service while also pursuing a career as a professional soccer player and serving as a private tutor in biology and zoology.

In 1997, Dr. Puleo embarked on his medical journey at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio, where he worked as a Histotech and Surgical Pathology Assistant, gaining invaluable experience in pathology and surgical procedures.

Dr. Puleo’s medical education continued at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where he earned his MD degree in 2003. Notably, he entered an Accelerated 3+3 Internal Medicine Residency program, completing his intern year during his fourth year of medical school.

Following medical school, Dr. Puleo completed his Internal Medicine Residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland Department of Medicine, graduating in 2005. He subsequently became board certified in Internal Medicine by ABIM and obtained ACLS certification.

Dr. Puleo has held various positions in healthcare, including serving as a Hospitalist at Grady Memorial Hospital for EnCompass Health and Grant Medical Center. Notably, he was elected to chair the Department of Internal Medicine at Grady Memorial Hospital and served on multiple committees, demonstrating his leadership and commitment to quality patient care.

Since April 2014, Dr. Puleo has been an integral part of General Medical Consultants, Inc., where his wealth of experience and dedication continue to positively impact patient care. With his extensive medical background and proven leadership skills, Dr. Puleo remains committed to providing exceptional medical care to his patients.
