Douglas Katula, M.D.

Dr. Douglas Katula is a highly experienced and dedicated physician currently serving at General Medical Consultants in New Albany, Ohio, since 2014. At General Medical Consultants, Dr. Katula plays a pivotal role in providing perioperative care at four local hospitals in Columbus, Ohio, ensuring optimal patient outcomes before, during, and after surgery. He became president of General Medical Consultants in July of 2024.

In addition to his role at General Medical Consultants, Dr. Katula has been a contingent physician at Ohio Health Hospice in Columbus since 1992. He provides compassionate hospice care at Kobacker House and within the community, offering comfort and support to patients and their families during challenging times.

His extensive medical education includes a Residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital from 1989 to 1992, a Medical Degree from The Ohio State University from 1985 to 1989, and an undergraduate degree from DePauw University from 1981 to 1985.

Dr. Katula is licensed to practice medicine in Ohio and holds certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Care.
