He has been an integral part of General Medical Consultants since January 2005, where he has served as a dedicated Nocturnist, Hospitalist, and expert in perioperative care until February 2022. Prior to his tenure at General Medical Consultants, Dr. Gerkin honed his skills as a Hospitalist specializing in perioperative medicine from July 1998 to January 2005.

Dr. Gerkin’s academic journey began at The Ohio State University, where he earned his Medical Degree from The College of Medicine in 1995, following his undergraduate studies at Duke University, where he graduated Cum Laude. He completed his residency and internship in Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University, solidifying his foundation in medical practice.

Board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Gerkin maintains his commitment to professional development, completing his Maintenance of Certification in 2014. He holds additional certifications, including U.S.M.L.E. Steps I, II, and III, demonstrating his dedication to excellence in medical education and practice.
